Actually the quote is, ” not worth a bucket of warm piss”……not spit.
Thanks for commenting. I decided to go with “spit” because that’s how it appeared in the Theodore White book The Making of the President 1960. But I see O.C. Fisher’s point that Garner probably said “piss” — it sounds like Garner, and “pitcher of warm piss” makes more sense.
