The Justice Department opened a record number of civil rights investigations of police departments, which led to reforms that are still changing cities. Trump abandoned those efforts. Biden has said he’d go even further than his old boss.

Enjoyed reading your June POLITICO article on Obama/Biden and policing. Now we will hopefully see a maturation of the programs, connecting community security to social justice, as so many of the causes of neighborhood crime are linked to issues of social and racial inequity. If we have good community policing programs, it will be because there are serious efforts to address the social and racial issues.
